1 GW of bifacial solar module for Mohammed bin Rashid Solar Park Fifth phase

JinkoSolar will provide 1 GW to the Fifth phase of Dubai’s major Mohammed bin Rashid Solar Park which is being developed by ACWA Power. This has been made possible because of the partnership with Shanghai Electric.

JinkoSolar will use its swan bifacial module. According to them, this module will help achieve high power gain and reduce the levelized cost of energy for the project.

Min Cao, president of Shanghai Electric said: “Challenges in raw material procurement and delayed delivery time caused by the global pandemic are just some of the issues JinkoSolar has helped support Shanghai Electric in the DEWA phase V project. In the near future, we look forward to exploring new opportunities to work together in more overseas regions and promote the sustainable development of renewable energy sources around the world.”

According to JinkoSolar chairman Xiande Li, their partnership with Shanghai Electric will further expand China’s contribution to the global solar industry.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Solar Park features both photovoltaic and concentrated solar power and will have a total capacity of 5 GW. Construction of the Mohammed bin Rashid solar park is part of Dubai’s plan to produce 75% of its power output from clean sources by 2050.
