One of the problems of conventional solar plus storage projects on any scale is the space issue. Yotta Solar, an energy storage developer in Texas, has put forward a creative solution that is so easy to install that can be significantly reduced the time of mounting, the soft cost, and maintaining of solar plus storage systems.
The idea, “Solar LEAF”, is a small storage unit designed to be mounted directly behind the solar module that is powering it, saving space & cost. It also uses a premium, high-cycle life lithium-iron-phosphate (LIP) chemistry battery & will come with a standard 10-year warranty with an option to extend to 20 years. LIP is one of the safest battery chemistries available, as the phosphate-based cathode material will not burn and is not prone to thermal runaway.
Is it a practical solution for a large-scale project?
