Australia’s Biggest Offgrid Hybrid Power Plant, Solar+Wind+Battery+Gas Engine

Australia’s first and largest combination of the hybrid power plant will be built to power up Agnew Gold Mine. It is the first of its kind in the country.

According to PV-Magazine, the power plant comprises four key components controlled by an advanced microgrid system. It features an 18 MW wind farm, a 10,710-panel solar plant generating 4 MW, a 13 MW/4 MWh battery system, and an off-grid 21 MW gas/diesel engine power plant.

It is also important to note that the project is the first one to integrate wind generation on-site.
