Westlands Solar Park in California will be the largest solar park in North America when completed. The total capacity of the park is eventually 2.7 GW which is constructed on more than 20,000 acres.

According to Taiyang News, management says the park is planned to come up in phases in Joaquin Valley in western Fresno and Kings Counties on selenium-contaminated and drainage-impaired farmland repurposed for clean energy development.

The first phase of the project is 250 MW. The project is aimed to meet the needs of public and private utilities and other energy consumers. It will provide clean energy to more than 1,200,000 homes.
