Do you know how much land is needed to supply the total electricity demand of the U.S

During the past decade, from 2008 to 2018, U.S cumulative installation capacity has been grown 35-fold to 62.2 GW in 2018. This is enough capacity to power the equivalent of 12 million average American homes. But the most significant point is that if just 0.6% of the nation’s total land area, 59 square kilometers, be equipped with solar panels, it could supply enough electricity to power the entire United States, according to the United States’ Department of Energy (DOE). It means that only about half of the San Francisco area,121.4 square kilometers, is needed to generate the total electricity demand of the United States.
