Germany’s Record For Coverage of Energy Consumption From Renewables Reached 47 %

The share of renewable energies in the coverage of energy consumption in Germany has raised from 39% in the first half of 2018 to 44% in the first half of 2019. The German government aims to raise the share of renewables to 65% by 2030 as part of its Energiewende drive to replace fossil fuel and nuclear power generation.
As a new record for Germany, this share reached 47% over the 9 months. In addition, more than one-third of the total generation has allocated to solar and wind.
It is important to mention two points that
1- Over the 9 months, solar surpassed its main fossil-fuel rival, natural gas, in generating electricity.
2- Only in the first two-month of the 2019 year, January & February, the monthly generation of electricity from fossil fuels has exceeded from renewables.
