Vector Group, Auckland’s electricity utility company, and Watercare, water utility company, cooperate to build New Zealand’s largest solar array which will also be the country’s first floating solar array. it will be built at the Rosedale wastewater treatment plant, in the North Shore area of Auckland.
The generated electricity of the facility is used for pumping and aeration for natural bacteria that help break down the waste as part of the treatment process. The facility will include over 2,700 solar panels and 3,000 floating pontoons.
