The main solution to climate change is well known – Stop Burning Fossil Fuels. The question here is “How to do this?”. It is more complicated. One of the outlines for the post-fossil-fuel future is generating electricity only with renewable sources.
There has been widespread public & politic debate about whether fully renewable electricity systems are feasible and how quickly the transition can be made.
However, Changing weather conditions puts the feasibility of renewable energies under question. The solution is combining renewables including solar and wind with storage systems (e.g. battery storage and pumped hydroelectric storage).
The real barrier to the future renewable electricity grid is how this transition can be made. In other words, the political policies of the governments or the focus of decision-makers on issues relating to environmental concerns specify the rate of this transition.
