Purely solar-powered yachts/catamarans are a commercial reality Now

The Swedish climate activist, Greta Thunberg, will be attending this year‘s UN Climate Action Summit in New York via a solar-powered yacht. So we seize the opportunity to introduce one of the solar-powered yachts, Silent 55 catamaran, which is a fully solar-powered yacht. The extensive use of solar power via special panels, li-ion batteries and electric motors by Silent Yachts (Austrian producer company of the yacht) sets a new trend in terms of ecologically oriented and careful yachting that respects nature and guarantees owners full comfort in total silence. The Silent 55 is fully solar-powered yacht but Greta’s yacht is not. The 55-foot yacht can be configured to be almost entirely self-sufficient. This means that the boat doesn’t produce any nasty exhaust, have no distracting operating noise, or excessive vibrations from traditional engines, and last but not least has an essentially unlimited range (as long as the sun keeps shining). Have you ever had an opportunity to voyage with a yacht? how was the experience?
