According to IRENA’s report, the total number of renewable jobs in 2017, excluding large-scale hydropower, reached 8.8 million. China continued to have the largest number of people employed in this sector, accounting for 44% (3,880,000) of the world’s total numbers.
It is also noted that after solar energy, biofuel energies have stood in the second rank of the most employed sector. Most of biofuel jobs are generated in the agricultural value chain (in planting and harvesting of feedstock).
