Solar installation has stepped up in the European Union region so much that the amount of solar installation has hit a high record and reached 16.7 GW during 2019 and increased 104% compared to the previous year. Solar Power Europe said that “2019 was one of the best years ever for solar in the European Union”.
This increase resulted in the EU region’s cumulative solar installation reached 131.9 GW by the end of 2019. According to Solar Power Europe, the key to solar’s growth in the EU and beyond is its competitiveness. Solar power is often cheaper than any other power generation source today, and its attractiveness is only increasing as the cost reduction curve continues at a much faster pace than for any other technology.
