The growth of the solar industry in the United States has increased the job opportunities statistics in this sector. Solar workforces market has risen up from 93,502 in 2010 to 249,983 in 2019. In other words, it indicates 167% growth rate over nine years, 15% annual growth on average. The statistics do not include part-time workers. If part-time workers were added, the number of solar workers would reach 344,532.
Although this industry endured a reduction of job opportunities in two straight years during 2017 to 2018, the 2019 numbers represent 2,.3% growth compared to its previous year.
It also mentioned that all of the data are in accordance with the Solar Foundation’s “National Solar Jobs Census”.
According to CNBC News, “In just ten years, despite facing many challenges, solar has grown from a niche product to a mainstream energy source that provides a quarter of a million high-quality jobs,” Andrea Luecke, the Solar Foundation’s president and executive director, said in a statement.
