The total installed solar capacity of India in 2010 was 10 MW and this reached 6000 MW, during a span of six years. The current capacity of India is about 31.7 GW. This drastic increase was thanks to the government steps towards mitigating the rise in energy consumption and meeting carbon emission reduction targets.
