Before diving into the list, it is also worth mentioning that the list in the website has over 10 panels and includes now over 31 most efficient solar panels in the mark. We publish this top 10 PV solar panels list monthly since 2019 and here you can have access to the full history. So let’s dive into the changes of this month first.
Changes since last month
The January 2022 Top 10 Solar panels list released with three changes compared to the last Top 10 solar panel which was published in December 2021 by Solar Edition. It is expected that in the coming months more changes will take place by giant and reputable PV module manufacturers. The first change introduced to the PV module market, is related to Panasonic’s EverVolt solar panels series. Not long ago, the company unveiled its new variant in EverVolt H series with rather high efficiency of 21.7% and resulted in a major update in the list, brining Panasonic to the 2nd rank of the January 2022 Top 10 Solar panels list. Another interesting point about this product is thei power output guarantee of 92% after 25 years.
The next change is associated with one of the reputable PV module manufacturers, Seraphim. Recently, the S5 series PV modules have been released by them with a power output of more than 600 W. Seraphim redefined the high-efficiency PV module series by integrating 210mm wafers or G12 with multi-busbar (MBB) and half-cut cell technologies.
The final update is SPIC Solar. They are a newcomer into SolarEdition’s monthly Top 10 solar panels list with 60 cells. However, our newcomer here Solar has already been on the SolarEdition’s industrial scale top 10 solar panels list with 72 solar cells before and stood on 7th place. The firm’s headquarter is located in Beijing, China.
Otherwise there is a hot competition among giant PV module manufacturers with products with roughly 21% efficiency. These ranked from 20th to 24th position in this month’s most efficient solar panels list and include Trina Solar, JA Solar, LONGi Solar, SPIC Solar, and Jinko Solar. For more details on the changes and technologies involved in the most recent list, please follow the article after the table below.

Technological details of January 2022 update
Panasonic EverVolt H Series: Solar panels with Triple Guard Warranties
This PV module features 410 W in power output, 22.2% efficiency as well as “power output guaranteed” of at least 92% after 25 years. With all these, this panel is now standing at the second rank among all January’s Most efficient solar panels. Moreover, this product was released with triple guard warranties including covering product, performance and labor for 25 years if installed by a Panasonic authorized, Premium or Elite installer and registered through the Panasonic website. Another special feature of this solar panel has a temperature coefficient of -0.26%, which Panasonic claims is one of the industry’s lowest. It means having a better performance for EverVolt in higher temperatures compared to other PV modules.
Seraphim Has Come up with Higher efficiency and power output in 2022
SRP-610-BMB-HV model of S5 series was released with 610 power output and 21.55% efficiency which placed it at 8th rank of January 2022 Top 10 Solar panels list. The company has utilized the multi-busbar (12BB) technology with G12 wafer size in order to increase the light-receiving area, while ensuring the cell efficiency. This model has a relatively low temperature coefficient of -0.34% per degree Celsius.
SPIC Solar, The Single Change and Newcomer of the List
Spic Solar is one of the world’s top 500 PV module manufacturers. The firm ranked 362th in the 2019 version of this list. The company’s SPIC N6 model launched with utilizing two high-efficiency technologies. One is interdigitated back contact (IBC) at the cell-level which has no fingers and busbars at the front side. The other is a half-cut cell tech at the module-level which leads to low series resistance compared to full cells. This model of SPIC Solar released with 21% and and 355 W in its power output which ranked 23st at January 2022 Top 10 Solar panels list.
