Top 10 Solar panels with 72 cells in the Second Quarter of 2022 Sorted by SolarEdition

Top 10 Solar Panels List Changes, since Q1 2022

The Q2 2022 Top 10 Solar panels list was out with two crucial changes compared to the last Top 10 solar panel which was published in Q1 2022 by Solar Edition. The changes in Q2 2022 Top 10 Solar panels have led to major and considerable variations at the bottom side of the Top solar panel list. These changes were caused by two of the PV module manufacturers in the world with a high reputation: Q Cells and REC group.

25th Position, Q Cells, Q Peak DUO model, 430 W, 20.3%

Q Cells, as a famous South Korean PV module producer whose headquarter for technology and Innovation is located in the Solar Valley in Thalheim, Germany. Q Peak DUO model of Q Cells has grabbed the 25th rank of this quarter’s best solar panels with 72 cells from other European giant frontrunners of this type, such as FuturaSun and REC group.

29th Position, REC Group, Twin Peak 3S model, 405 W, 20.1%

Although REC group has already existed in Q2 2022 Top 10 Solar panels list thanks to its most powerful solar panel’s series, Alpha series, it can not stand in a better position than 29th rank with its Twin Peak 3S model.

So let’s go through the most recent updates of the most efficient 72 cells solar panels of this quarter. Please bear in mind that the list in our website is very detailed and contains more than top 10 solar panels. It now includes over 29 most efficient (best) solar panels in the market.

Technological Details of Q2 2022 Update

Q Cells, Presenting PV Modules with Q.ANTUM Technology

Q Cells is well-known for its PV modules with Q.ANTUM technology. With the new Q.ANTUM technology, the company introduces an innovative cell interconnection to the market, which manages without gaps in the individual cell rows. Q Cells solar modules with Q.ANTUM Technology not only deliver impressive performance under real conditions, they also offer first-class performance guarantees of 86 % after 25 years. This means you benefit permanently from more power at lower costs.

This PV module manufacturer has also utilized half-cut cell technology in the Q Peak DUO model. This effectively splits the solar panel into 2 smaller panels of 50% capacity each of which works in parallel. This technology has multiple benefits including increased performance due to lower resistive losses through the bus bars (current collectors). Since each cell is the half size it produces half the current at the same voltage which means the width of the busbar can be reduced by half, in turn, reducing cell shading and losses. The lower current also translates to lower cell temperatures which in turn reduces the potential formation and severity of hot spots due to localized shading, dirt or cell damage. Q Peak DUO model of Q Cells has placed at 25th rank of Q2 2022 Top 10 Solar panels with 72 cells.

REC Group, Enabling Customers to Get the Most out of the Space Used for the Installation.

REC group is well-known for its most powerful and high-performance PV module series, that is the Alpha series. In addition, another reason for its reputation is its ability to produce next-generation solar modules with minimal environmental impact. By using advanced manufacturing techniques, the REC group has removed the lead from all components so that it is compliant with Restriction of Hazardous Substances Regulations (RoHS) across the world.

The company’s Twin Peak 3S model has also exploited the company’s proprietary feature of high performance. Since it is bigger in size, but at just 22 kg, still lightweight. Moreover, it delivers even higher power output per square meters, and is ideally suited for commercial and industrial applications worldwide. The latter point is defined as the power density of a PV module. The power density is the total power generated by a PV module divided by the area of that module. The power density unit is watts per square meter (W/m2).  It is one of the things that all PV module sellers, buyers, and installers should consider. In spite of these facts, this solar panel stood at the lowest rank of  Q2 2022’s high efficient solar panels list with 72 cells.
