UNEP: CO2 Emission should Cut 7.6% yearly in next decade, to meet Paris Agreement Goals

If countries follow their pathways and current policies and refuse to face the fact that climate change is happening, the global temperatures can be expected to rise by 3.2 – 3.9 degrees Celsius over the pre-industrial level in 1991, this century. This will result in widespread damages such as loss of ice-berg in Greenland and Antarctica, heavy floodings which are caused by accelerating sea-level rise and more intensive and longer heatwaves.

According to UNFCCC,  a new UN Environment Programme (UNEP) report warns that unless global greenhouse gas emissions fall by 7.6% each year between 2020 and 2030, the world will miss the opportunity to get on track towards the 1.5°C temperature goal of the Paris Agreement.

As an outstanding example of real facts about climate change, especially global warming, the European-average temperature for October 2019 was ,first of all, 1.1 degree warmer than the average October from 1981-2010 and then the third warmest October in the period from 1979 onwards.
