Solar energy systems installed and maintained by the electric car maker were responsible for fires at seven Walmart’s stores.
The retail giant, Walmart, accused Tesla of “gross negligence and failure to live up to industry standards”. This was often caused, the lawsuit claims, by a “rushed, negligent approach to the systems’ installation.” Furthermore, the lawsuit claims that Tesla “routinely deployed individuals to inspect the solar systems who lacked basic solar training and knowledge.”
Walmart has been asking a court to force Tesla to remove solar panels from more than 240 of its U.S. stores.
