Washington Becomes Fifth State In The US To Aim For 100 Percent Clean Energy

Recently, we have published a post about Nevada that it is the fourth US state to commit to 100% clean energy after California, Hawaii, and New Mexico. Now, we should add Washington State as the fifth one to the list.
According to Renewable Energy World, Senate Bill 5116 was signed into law by Governor Jay Inslee after passing the state legislature. This bill cuts out coal power by 2025 and requires an equitable transition to 100 percent clean electricity for the entire state by 2045.
Several other states have also introduced 100 percent clean energy legislation in 2019, including Minnesota, Illinois, New York, and Maine, among others.
