According to a recent report from the World Bank, the global potential of FPV, even under moderate assumptions, is 400 Gigawatt all over the world.
Floating Photovoltaic (FPV) firstly appeared as an option to extend solar power across the world in Aichi japan in 2007. But it lasted long to gain traction in 2016. FPV Cumulative Installed Capacity Reached Over 1 GW in mid-2018.
Some of the features of FPV are including a better performance of modules, higher energy gain compared to ground-mounted installation, and reducing water evaporation.
